Applicants should be trade qualified with a demonstrated knowledge and skill required for an agricultural working environment, proactive fault-finding ethic, with a solution finding focus.  An excellent work ethic and be committed to their trade.  Must be honest and reliable, as well as have the capacity for accuracy and attention to detail.

About the Role ...

You will be required to consult and collaborate with Divisional/Departmental Managers, and any others as necessary to perform tasks.

Key Responsibilities 

• Carry out maintenance and repairs to all light vehicles, heavy vehicles and heavy machinery.
• Assist with the Management of heavy machinery inspections.
• Coordinate regular maintenance on machinery, systems, and automotive vehicles.
• Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Examine machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.
• Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
• Work with fleet manager and procurement to enable purchasing, savings, replacements and best utilisation of vehicles and stock.
• Monitor inventory and order new parts, lubricants, oils etc when necessary.
• Training and supervision of apprentices and junior labourers when required.
• Requirement to attend potential call outs as required.

About You ...

Essential requirements of the role:

• Diesel Mechanic Qualification or Petrol Mechanic with Diesel/heavy machinery experience
• Drivers Licence
• Construction Card (Blue or White)

Desirable requirements of the role:

• Ability to plan and manage workload.
• Ability to manage a team.
• Hold a HR or greater truck license.
• Hold a current A/C ticket.
• Have a robust physical fitness level, with the ability to regularly complete highly physical tasks;
• Have a "can do" attitude by working cooperatively and efficiently to meet daily production requirements in a small team;
• Assisting contractors when necessary;
• Operating hand and power tools of all types;
• Operating farm machinery, vehicles & plant equipment;
• Be accountable for the work completed;

Applicants should have experience working in a physical, hands-on role, with a demonstrated knowledge and skill required for an agricultural working environment, proactive fault-finding ethic, with a solution finding focus. An excellent work ethic and be committed to their trade.  Must be honest and reliable, as well as have the capacity for accuracy and attention to detail. 

Desirable: Previous machine operating experience, particularly within agricultural, construction, or industrial environments. Relevant tickets, licences, or demonstrated experience operating machinery and equipment will be highly regarded.

About the Role ...

In this key position, you’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day running of our maintenance workshop. You’ll lead a small team of fitters, boiler makers and apprentices, coordinate maintenance tasks, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, to a high standard, meeting all agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities 

• Proactively supervising and mentoring Maintenance Team with all company production equipment and facilities for all sites of operation - includes assisting with installation, relocation, modification, and preventive and remedial maintenance to ensure efficient plant and machinery operation for a quality product with a minimum down time.
• Planning, scheduling, and allocating maintenance and repair work.
• Carrying out hands-on fitting, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Assist maintaining a high level of quality control on all sites in accordance with quality assurance standards as implemented by the company.
• Managing workshop inventory, tooling and parts.
• Maintain a high level of safety and safe working practices within all work areas.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting on maintenance activities.

About You ...

Essential requirements of the role:

About the Role...

This position is initially a casual position, working Monday through Sunday on a day shift, as per the site roster required to meet operational requirements. 

You must be able to work safely and efficiently unsupervised when required, but also be able to work cooperatively in a small team environment.

General tasks include the following:

• Perform general building and equipment maintenance both inside and outside poultry sheds;
• Service and maintain conveyors, egg belts, nest boxes, feed and water lines, and associated infrastructure;
• Assist with regular machine services as part of planned maintenance schedules;
• Assist with job planning, design and/or repairs to support farm operations;
• Complete any training (both on-the-job and externally) and actively participate as required.

About You ...

In order to successfully perform this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Whilst a trade qualification is NOT essential, you must be able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and sound troubleshooting skills;
• You should have a minimum 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance role in an agricultural environment;
• Sound ability to communicate effectively with your Managers and Supervisors, other team members and tradespeople;
• A valid Licence to Operate a Forklift with sufficient operational experience would be highly regarded;
• A certificate for Working at Heights would be highly regarded;
• Experience working with Cooling Systems would be highly regarded.

About the Role ...

You will be required to work efficiently and cohesively within a team environment on a 14 day site roster, and you would be responsible for the care of domestic poultry to ensure the efficient production of a high quality and hygienic egg.

Key Responsibilities 

• Work proactively with a team on a roster basis to provide 365-day coverage;
• Monitor and maintain flock health at all times;
• Participate in the training provided to ensure a high level of skill and knowledge of the tasks required;
• Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety, quarantine and bio-security standards;
• Operate machinery and equipment to ensure system optimisation for poultry at all times;
• Monitor the feeding and watering systems, and perform general animal husbandry of stock;
• Work closely within a variety of intensive livestock systems;
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.

You will:

• Be accountable for the work completed;

About the Role ...

You will be required to work efficiently and cohesively within a team environment on a rotating roster, ensuring the welfare of domestic poultry, to support the efficient production of a high quality and hygienic egg.

Key Responsibilities 

• Perform daily feed, water, temperature and welfare checks in poultry sheds to ensure the care and health of young birds;
• Handle, identify and inspect poultry;
• Follow established practices and complete activities on the site to attain the best possible productivity, ensuring bird husbandry and performance attains or exceeds the standards set by the company;
• Maintain a high level of quality control in accordance with the business's established quality assurance standards, with a focus on continuous improvement of the systems;
• Comply with all Animal Welfare and good stock practices for the care and handling of birds as required;
• Participate in training and work within the scope of that training;
• Comprehensively complete all necessary documentation;
• Communicate effectively with all relevant business partners on a day-to-day basis.

About You ...

In order to successfully fulfil the requirements of this role, you will need to have:

• Bachelor degree qualification in agriculture, animal science, poultry or equivalent would be highly regarded;
• Technical proficiency with poultry rearing systems would be highly regarded;
• At least 2 years' of recent and relevant work experience in a medium to large size commercial poultry production enterprise is essential;
• A caring attitude towards poultry livestock and a willingness to do the tasks assigned and comply with all relevant legislation and required work standards;
• Willingness to undertake further study as applicable;
• A demonstrated commitment to completing all tasks with high quality;
• Proactive and efficient time management skills - with the ability to meet agreed deadlines;
• Self-motivation and drive to excel;
• Above-average levels of literacy and numeracy.

About the Role ...

You will be required to work efficiently and cohesively within a team environment on a rotating roster, ensuring the safe operation of equipment provided.

Key Responsibilities 

• Remove manure from sheds using designated equipment
• Clean and maintain shed surrounds by shovelling and sweeping spills after manure removal
• Inspect manure quality (wet, dry or normal) and accurately record and report findings to the Farm Manager
• Identify causes of wet manure, including leaking drinker nipples or potential bird health concerns
• Record and report leaking drinker nipples, including location details (tire, row, and position in cages)
• Monitor manure belts to ensure correct tension, tracking and operation, reporting any faults promptly
• Maintain cleanliness of manure pits, ensuring they are regularly pumped out
• Perform basic maintenance checks on manure trucks (oil, water, tyres, etc.), recording actions and reporting issues
• Keep manure truck cabins clean, including weekly washing and vacuuming.
• Comply with animal welfare standards and best practices when handling and moving birds (pullets and/or spent hens)
• Report equipment faults and maintenance issues to the Farm manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor
• Understand and strictly adhere to quarantine and biosecurity standards across the farm

About You ...

You will:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
• Ability to follow strict biosecurity and safety procedures
• Physically fit and capable of manual labour
• Good communication skills and ability to report issues accurately
• Experience in poultry or agriculture environments (preferred but not essential)
• Basic mechanical awareness or equipment handling experience is an advantage

About the Role ...

You will be required to work quickly, efficiently and cohesively within a team environment to ensure optimal bird welfare during the catching and placing of birds.

You must be available for very early morning starts or late evening and night starts, working around the strict requirements for the welfare of the birds. The roster is irregular, with hours between 60 and 80 per fortnight.

Key Responsibilities 

• Safely and efficiently load or unload birds in accordance with established work practices;
• Work closely within a variety of intensive livestock systems;
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment;
• Other tasks as directed, including shed cleaning or gardening duties.

About You ...

You will:

• Be very physically fit, and able to perform a variety of physical tasks including heavy lifting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, and pushing trolleys;
• Have the ability to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced and time-pressured environment, performing repetitive tasks with a high degree of care;
• Have your own transport, and be able to attend various farm sites within a 20 km radius of Millmerran;
• Have a "can do" attitude by working cooperatively and efficiently to meet daily requirements;
• Be accountable for the work completed;
• Demonstrate effective communication skills;
• Have an attention to detail to complete both husbandry and quality assurance tasks.

About the Role ...

DA Hall Group Stockfeed Milling Division supplies the company's total poultry feed requirements.  Production at the mill has grown to over 2000 tonnes per week of finished feed, with all feed distributed by a fleet of company trucks.

Working Monday through Friday inclusive (average 38 to 45 hours per week), you would be required to assist with all areas of the mill operations, including receive commodities, schedule feed production and deliveries, control stock levels, weigh trucks, and test grain.

On successful completion of probation and a consistently demonstrated positive work ethic will result in an additional Award Bonus and additional training to increase employee value within the Division.

Key Responsibilities 

• Operate the feed mill in accordance with established work practices;
• Assist with the maintenance of the Feedmill equipment, building and surrounds;
• Safely and competently operate a forklift;
• Safely and efficiently assist with the receival of commodities into the mill;
• Ensure safe and efficient delivery of feed to farm sites, in accordance with established schedules and work practices;
• Control stock levels, monitoring and advising when levels may be low;
• Weigh trucks through the weighbridge as and when required;
• Test grain in accordance with established work practices;
• Drive feed body trucks (on site only, truck licence is not required);
• Prepare and bag product as required.

About You ...

You will:

• Possess a valid Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck with sufficient operational experience;
• Be very physically fit, and able to perform a variety of physical tasks including heavy lifting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders and being comfortable with heights, and pushing or pulling;
• Have the ability to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced and sometimes time-pressured environment, performing tasks with a high degree of care and attention to detail;
• Have a "can do" attitude by working cooperatively and efficiently to meet daily requirements;
• Be accountable for the work completed;
• Demonstrate effective communication skills;
• Possess basic computer skills; with a mechanical aptitude being an advantage but not essential.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, your duties for this role will include:

• Working with the existing team to participate in the on-site roster, 7 days per week, 365 days per year;
• Working in various areas of the FMCG warehouse;
• Effective communication with Production to ensure efficient supply chain processes;
• Loading trucks and consolidating loads;
• General warehouse duties including palletising;
• Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, and in accordance with established work practices and SOP's;
• Ensure all processes minimise waste and maximise productivity;
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment;
• Participate in the training provided to ensure a high level of skill and knowledge of the tasks required;
• Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety, quarantine and bio-security standards.
